Vintage Travel Posters of Greece

Beautiful blue sparkling seas, endless sandy beaches, sunny days, magnificent archaeological sites  and, of course, the lovable, hospitable Greeks , is what attracts thousands of tourists to Greece each year.

Through the years, these great Greek attractions have been presented to the world, in the form of striking, colourful, travel posters.

The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) was founded in 1929, as part of the first organized effort to promote Greece as a destination for international travelers.

One of the assets the organization resorted to were posters, the main promotional medium of the era.

Let’s travel back in time, Greek style, and take a look at fifty vintage Greek travel posters, not only from Greece but from  countries enticing people to visit this amazing place called Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, or Hellas, the name the people here in Greece prefer.
